                At Saudi LEMAN, we always give clients our best, no matter how much of our time a job requires, by fostering promising talent and using state-of-the-art technology and raw material.

Our Story

                In 2001, one of our founders set to work, restoring a classic vehicle. At that point, he was just a hobbyist. He had the care professionally painted by a well-known workshop and upholstered by a respected name in a neighboring country. The end result was something that felt great to drive but lacked our founder’s personal touch. It performed well in major competitions, but it was just a bit boring. It needed something more before he could call it “custom-built.” So, in his free time, he began working with the upholstery his way.

In 2007, as economies around the world collapsed and many lost their jobs, our founder found himself out of work. Although it was a significant burden, he also saw it as a fantastic opportunity to build something special, something that would stand out. Over those last six years, his craftsmanship had approved markedly. He knew he wanted to shift his upholstering hobby into a profession, but he couldn’t see a clear path for himself.

In 2014, after losing another job, he decided to go all-in on his personal pursuit. He began fundraising, and soon found four investors who believed in his idea of game-changing auto upholstery products. The challenge was how to start: what kind of equipment, manpower, materials, and branding would we need?

In June of that year, we established LEMAN and bought a small office called EXPERG with a tiny workshop in it. It had one air conditioner, a laptop, some chairs, and nothing else. The shop itself was never a selling point; rather, it was where they met to discuss various aspects of the business, conduct research, validate international established upholstery firms, source raw materials, and so on. Though the place lacked in looks, the work that came out of it would find broad appeal.

From EXPERG, now Saudi LEMAN, they reached out to a retired upholstery business owner who was only too happy to join the team. They had the know-how, but they still had several other concerns — most importantly, manpower. They were looking for two particular elements: an eye for quality, and the faith and drive to build a globally recognized trimming firm. They spent the better part of a year searching for talent, we always seemed to come up short.

In 2015, LEMAN acquired a warehouse and started to move in all the equipment. By then, we’d hired five people. Our thorough training began with an overview of common material types, differentiating between leathers, tension, flexibility, and other technical matters. By the end of 2015, after successfully training our first group of future master upholsterers, we hired four more team members, and the cycle began again.

On September 17, 2017, we launched our first marketing campaign, announcing our existence to the world. Since then, we have been introducing new products, one after another. The first product was leather repair, followed by professional leather care, then steering wheel wrapping. In 2020, we officially launched our Custom Professional Seat Upholstery (trim). We’ve come a long way since 2014, but the journey has only just begun.
